3RD QTR TAXES - AUGUST INSTALLMENT UPDATE
Tax bills will be mailed Friday, July 30th. The last day to make payment for the 3rd quarter installment is August 30th. If payment is not received by August 30th, interest will be computed from the statutory due date of August 1st. (Please note new mailing address for payments when you receive your bill.) If you have any further questions please call the tax office 908-665-8031.

Senior Farmers Market Nutritional Program (SFMNP)
The SFMNP program for seniors provides (2) $10.00 checks for seniors to use at the farmers markets for fruits, herbs and vegetables grown locally and sold at Union County Farmers Markets (not grocery stores). Both Stony Hill Farms and Melicks Town Farm accept these WIC or SFMNP checks at our Wednesday afternoon markets. Applications for this program are available at the Senior Center on East 4th St. and need to be brought to SAGE, on Broad St. in Summit, on Tuesday, August 10 from 10AM-NOON for verification by the Union County Division on Aging. Participants must be age 60 or older, and have an individual income of or less than $20,036 and $26,955 for two incomes combined; bring PROOF of age, income, and residency to receive verification. NOTE: There WILL NOT be a Farmers Market at that site on that day. For any further information, call the County at 908-527-4877.

Parking Permit Calendar Year Begins
April 1, 2010 is the beginning of the new year for parking permits. If you have not yet obtained a new sticker, please call or visit the Borough Clerk office. Annual resident parking permits are $300, or $85 for a quarter. Annual non-resident parking permits are $1,000 or $275 for a quarter.

Battery Recycling

Battery Recycling
Beginning January 1, 2010, household batteries will no longer need to be recycled. They may be placed in the trash. Rechargeable batteries should still be recycled by dropping them off at the New Providence Memorial Library or DPW yard.
