New Providence Recreation - Adult Programs

New Providence Recreation offers adult fitness and enrichment classes in 14-week sessions.  Refer to your email registration receipt for exact class dates.  Register online or in person at the Recreation Office located in the Municipal Center at 360 Elkwood Avenue.

BODY BLAST BOOT CAMP:  A high intensity workout outdoors (weather permitting) in the fall/spring, indoors in the winter. Designed to Zap the Fat, increase metabolism and energy level, sculpt and tone your body and leave you feeling fabulous and fit while having fun. 

BODY SHAPING:  Utilize weights, bands, body-weight and challenging techniques to push your body to greater fitness.  Appropriate for all levels, this class continually changes routines and seeks to push participants past their limits. 

CARDIO COMBO:  Total body workout focuses on cardiovascular and strengthening exercises.  Take more than one class to mix up your workout routine with our talented instructors.  

DRAWING & PAINTING (4 weeks):  Individual attention in a small group setting.  Emphasis is on developing skills and exploring basic techniques in drawing and/or painting.  A variety of media will be used:  colored pencils, charcoal, pastel, watercolors and acrylics.  Students are encouraged to pursue their individual interest.  Demonstrations & critiques will be given (materials included).

MEN'S PICK-UP BASKETBALL:  Pick-up basketball based on age group.  There is no fee for this program, but participants are required to register and complete a release form annually through Community Pass.

  • TUESDAYS - Ages 18-30             8:30-10:30pm
  • WEDNESDAYS - Ages 30+          8:30-10:30pm
  • THURSDAYS - Ages 40+             8:00-10:00pm

PILATES:  Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength, and develops control and endurance in the whole body.  It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.

TABLE TENNIS (8 weeks):  Learn rules, strokes, footwork and speed.

WOMEN'S OPEN GYM VOLLEYBALL:  Fun, informal play for women 18+.  There is no fee for this program, but participants are required to register through Community Pass.

YOGA:  Breathe, stretch, relax!  Let stress and tension melt away as you stretch and strengthen your body and relax your mind.  Bring your own mat and a large towel for relaxation.
