RECREATION NEWS

Summer 2015

Registration will begin online for all of our summer programs on March 10, 2015 at 10:00am.  Please see a copy of the summer brochure here.

Summer Enrichment courses are offered in conjunction with the New Providence Board of Education and taught by district teachers.  We have some great new courses this year in addition to our popular Music and Art classes.  The brochure can be found here.

We are currently accepting online inquiries for summer employment through Community pass under 2015 Employment - Summer Camps.  All potential applicants must be 16 years of age by June 1, 2015 to be considered for summer employment.  Interviews will be conducted during March/April

Spring Volleyball and Badminton Programs

Volleyball Skills and Scrimmage programs are available for Girls 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th, and High School.  A Women's Open Gym Volleyball is also offered.

New this spring is an Open Gym Badminton program on Friday nights for both Adults and children, ages 8 and up.

Spring Youth Programs

Registration will open on Community Pass on Monday, December 1 at 10:00am.  Spring classes begin the week of January 26, 2015.  Class dates will appear on your Community Pass receipt at registration.

Winter 2015 Adult 

Registration will open for the 2015 Adult Winter session Monday, December 1. Classes begin the week of January 5, 2015.  Click here for the flier with class descriptions and schedules.

"After Hours"

"After Hours" are monthly social evenings for New Providence 50+ Adults sponsored by the New Providence Community Activities Department.  Our next event is an "Irish Night" on Thursday, March 12,2015 from 7:00-9:30PM at the DeCorso Community Center, 15 East 4th Street.  Please click here to view flyer.

New Providence Tennis Courts Lights & Permits

Enjoy tennis under the lights!  From June 21-September 1, the tennis courts lights will be on from dusk until 10PM daily.  Permit holders get priority court usage at all times and may make one-hour reservations from 6-10PM.  See the flyer for permit details and registration information.

Fishing Derby: Saturday, April 18 at 8:00AM.  Sponsored by New Providence PBA Local 132 and New Providence Recreation Department.

Memorial Day Parade:  Monday, May 25 at 10:00AM.  Sponsored by American Legion Post #433 & Borough of New Providence

NJ Sharing Network 5K Walk/Run:  Sunday, June 7 at 9:00AM.  Sponsored by NJ sharing Network & NP Business & Professional Association (NPBPA).

Independence Day Celebration:  Friday, July 3 at 9:30PM.  Sponsored by NP Business & Professional Association (NPBPA).

NP Recreation Introduces Background Check Policy for Volunteer Coaches

NP Recreation coaches, assistant coaches and parent helpers are required to complete a Background Check.  This program is mandatory and free of cost to volunteers.  Please visit www.leaguelineup.com/newprovbasketball and click on COACHES INFO for more information.
