Summer Employment 2016
       Interested in working for the Recreation Department this summer?  We are accepting Summer 2016 Employment Inquiries on Community Pass under 2016 Summer Employment through March 25th for:

  • Tennis Court Attendants
  • Summer Camp Counselors
  • Summer Camp CIT's (ages 13-15)
  • Swim Instructors

Interviews for Summer positions will be conducted during April with final employment decisions being made by June 1st.   Applicants for Court Attendants, Camp Counselors and Swim Instructors must be 16 by June 1st to be considered for Summer Employment.

2016 COMMUNITY EVENTS:

Easter Egg HuntThe 43rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the New Providence Lions Club, will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Oakwood Park.  The Easter Bunny arrives at 9:15am with the hunt beginning at 9:30am. 

Fishing DerbyThe New Providence Police Department, in partnership with the New Providence Recreation Department will host this annual event at Oakwood Park in April. 

Memorial Day ParadeThe parade will kick-off at 10:00am on May 30th along Springfield Avenue between Central and Academy Street. 

Farmers MarketThe New Providence Farmer's Market will run every Wednesday from June through October at the New Providence Presbyterian Church on Springfield Avenue - 12:00pm-6:00pm.

Sharing Network 5K  June 5, 2016 - Race begins at 8:30am; Walk begins at 10:00am.  Registration is available through the Sharing Network website.   

      Independence Day Celebration: Sunday, July 3 along South Street.

NP Recreation Introduces Background Check Policy for Volunteer Coaches

NP Recreation coaches, assistant coaches and parent helpers are required to complete a Background Check.  This program is mandatory and free of cost to volunteers.  Please visit www.leaguelineup.com/newprovbasketball and click on COACHES INFO for more information.
