New Providence Public Health Nurse
Office hours
- The Public Health Nurse’s office hours are 8:00AM to 3:00PM, Tuesday through Thursday. The office phone number is 464-7308.
- The New Providence Health Department is now affiliated with the Westfield Regional Health Department, the Westfield Health Department is located on 425 East Broad Street in Westfield. The office hours are 8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday. The Westfield Health Department phone number is (908) 789-4070.
- Work schedule will occasionally vary depending on calendar of events (screenings and other health-related programs being held)
Well Child Clinic
- Free service to all residents without insurance vaccine coverage; Appointments are required
- The New Providence Clinic is for all children residing in the Borough
- Children from infants to adolescents are seen (Birth through age 18 years)
- Clinic provides complete physical examinations required by schools and sports teams, school required immunizations are administered, maintenance of medical records
- Clinics are held every other month from 8:30 AM to early afternoon as needed
- Clinic day will vary according to clinic Doctor’s eligibility
- Clinic is on the third floor of the Municipal Building in the office of the Public Health Nurse
Community Health Programs
& Senior Citizen Services
- Blood pressure screenings held at the Senior Citizen Center every Wednesday from 9:30 Am until 11:00, except the first Wednesday of every month
- Health Department offers health programs and screenings for residents periodically
- Check website, channel 35, local newspaper for announcement of programs

- File of Life is a medical information card that records all vital pertinent health information for emergency purposes; Call Public Health Nurse for an appointment
- Annual Senior Health Fair is held in the spring at the Senior Center
- The Health Fair provides free screenings and health services to New Providence residents
Flu Clinic
- Flu Clinic is a free service to residents
- Annual Flu clinic held in the Autumn
- Check local newspaper, website and channel 35 for location and date
Home Visits & Office Visits
- The Public Health Nurse conducts home visits to residents as requested
- Requests for home evaluations can be made by primary physician, family member, or any concerned party
- Services include blood pressure screening, pulse checks, medication instruction, guidance and information on diet, good nutrition, exercise or any health-related matter (primary physicians will refer clients)
- It is recommended that residents call first to check on my availability
School Audits
- I evaluate the student vaccine records for completeness for all the local schools
Communicable Disease Surveillance
- Investigation of communicable disease reports of all Borough residents
- Provide case management and submitting cases to the state
