Local Emergency Management Committee Seeks Members

Division of Emergency Management New Providence, New Jersey

Anthony Buccelli Jr. Emergency Management Coordinator

We are extending an invitation to community members who may have an interest in becoming part of the support team for the Local Emergency Management Committee (LEPC).

The LEPC exists to handle extraordinary occurrences that require the combined resources of all Borough departments and perhaps the assistance of outside agencies. The 15-member LEPC team consists of representatives of our police, fire, EMS, engineering and public works departments as well as Red Cross, Board of Health, Board of Education and local utility companies.

Emergency Management may also depend on the resources of citizens within the Borough to offer whatever time, expertise or equipment they may have. We may need help to operate a temporary shelter or we may want to borrow a truck, boat or generator during a situation. You may have the know-how we need, as every occurrence will require different resources.

In an effort to establish a database, kindly fill out the form found under Forms & Documents and return at your earliest convenience. If you know of another resident who would like to participate, please ask them to contact Anthony Buccelli, Emergency Management Coordinator through the Police Department 908-665-1111.
