Safe Routes To School  – 2016 Grant 

The 2016 Safe Routes To School grant is in the final stages of the design process.  NV5 will be hosting an information meeting on Wednesday, July 7th from 6:00pm-8:00pm via GoToWebinar to give residents an opportunity to provide input on the project.  Several Streets are part of this project that is slated for construction in 2022 (Yes – 6 years after receiving the grant).  Please see the flyer attached.

  • Allen W. Roberts Elementary School
    • Hawthorne Drive from Cameron Rd. to Central Ave.
      New segment of concrete sidewalk, seven (7) curb ramps and eighteen (18) driveway aprons
    • Crane Circle from Jones Dr. to Morris Ave.
      New segment of concrete sidewalk, two (2) curb ramps and five (5) driveway aprons
  • Salt Brook Elementary School
    • Central Avenue from Livingston Ave. to Verona Rd.
      New segment of concrete sidewalk, three (3) curb ramps, three (3) driveway aprons, new crosswalk (Verona Rd.), and relocation of Central Ave. crossing
    • Central Avenue from Salem Rd. to Maple St.
      New segment of concrete sidewalk, fourteen (14) curb ramps, two (2) driveway aprons, relocated Central Ave. crossing at Salem Rd., and new crosswalks
    • Willow Street from Springfield Ave. to southern terminus (direct access to Salt Brook Elementary School)
      New segments of concrete sidewalk, four (4) curb ramps, six (6) driveway aprons, new crosswalks and improved access to school’s drop off point

The project Design and Construction cost is funded by federal funds administered through NJDOT Local Aid Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program.
