Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 125, imposing additional mitigation requirements on NJ TRANSIT and all private carriers to limit the spread of COVID-19. The order also outlines specific policies on restaurants that have remained open for takeout orders.
The Order will require New Jersey Transit and all private carriers to cut their capacity to a 50% maximum and to provide their drivers with gloves and face coverings. Set to go into effect Monday at 8:00 p.m., the Order states that passengers will also be required to wear face coverings.
Customers entering a restaurant to pick up food, as well as the employees inside, will also have to begin wearing masks as a result of the Order.
