Today we have no new COVID19 cases and thankfully no new deaths to report. With this good news, it should be a good day for us here in New Providence. But with recent devastating events rocking our country and our very humanity, it is hard to be happy, think about, or talk about anything else. So many of us are hurting, angry, and upset. We are a tight, close knit community here in New Providence, friends, and neighbors. As a community, it is my whole hearted belief that we can find hope in all that is happening and pledge to be better. In solidarity, let us each acknowledge and hear the pain of so many who have been suffering from social injustices. We are not perfect, but we can strive and commit every day, with every action to be better, to do better, to listen, to learn, to do the right thing, and to do all we can to overcome injustices. We are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all. We will get through this together. Pioneer Strong!
Yours in New Providence,
Mayor Al Morgan
