Update by Mayor Al Morgan
Wednesday 6/10 8:30pm
Thankfully, we have no new cases and no new deaths to report today. Another good day with good news for New Providence! We did however, have a significant power outage this afternoon, impacting many in our community. Thankfully most have been restored.
Our Diversity Committee will be hosting their second annual Race Unity Day virtually via Zoom this Sunday, June 14th between 2pm-3pm(see link below). This event celebrates our differences and helps us understand shared experiences of our neighbors through their respective lenses. Please click here for more information and to register for this free community event: https://bit.ly/RaceUnity2020 Everyone is also invited to come together for a Community Vigil this Sunday evening, June 14th 7:30pm, in Centennial Park.
Please remember to drop off your flags to the Borough Hall lobby (Elkwood Ave entrance) first thing if you are participating in the Community Flag Event hosted by NPOCFA. The deadline was today! Thank you to New Providence Our Community for All (NPOCFA) for putting together this inclusive community event. We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s flags in Centennial Park this Sunday. Thank you to all who participated.
Be well. Stay safe. And keep strong! We are one day closer to normalcy. Pioneer Strong!
