PT CFO – for the Borough of New Providence in western Union County.
New Providence is a stable, historic community nestled in the Watchung Mountains, with elected officials and management committed to professional municipal government. A highly desirable residential community, New Providence has a population of 12,422, a municipal budget of $20+ million, and offers a full range of municipal services. The Borough has the distinction of AAA financial ratings from all three major ratings agencies.

The Borough is conducting a search for a part-time CFO, who would work 25-30 flexible hours per month. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be identified by the end of 2020 with appointment effective January 1, 2021. The first quarter of 2021 will be used for transition as our current PT CFO is retiring on March 31, 2021.

Only candidates who possess the NJ Certified Municipal Finance Officer designation will be considered for this position. Additional certification as Qualified Purchasing Agent and familiarity with Edmunds is highly desirable.
