NPCOVID19 REPORT:
We have 6 new Covid-19 cases in our community reported to us from the Board of Health, and thankfully another 10 more newly recovered. Our current total active cases in New Providence as of last night, Thursday 1/7/21, is 33 non-LTC cases and 0 LTC cases.
Here is a breakdown of our current cases:
– 3 New Adult non-LTC Cases
– 3 New Child Cases:
– 3 NPHS Students
– 10 New Recovered non-LTC
– 35 Total Active Cases:
– 35 non-LTC
– 0 LTC
New Providence has had a total of 287 positive COVID-19 cases since October 1st:
October – 12 Cases
November- 99 Cases
December – 150 Cases
January (1st – 7th) – 26 Cases

Union County began to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to people in Phase 1A in accordance with state guidelines. Health care personnel, as defined by the New Jersey Department of Health, who are eligible to receive the vaccine, must make an appointment through the County’s registration system. Phase 1A includes:
- Paid and unpaid persons serving in health care settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials and long-term care residents and staff.
- Sworn law enforcement personnel and fire professionals from Phase 1B.
