We thankfully have no new Covid-19 cases in our community reported to us from the Board of Health, and thankfully 3 more new recovered.
Our current total active cases in New Providence is 38.
We will continue to keep you updated as we receive confirmed information.
New Providence has had a total of 658 positive COVID-19 cases reported to us since the onset of the pandemic. Since the second wave, which began in October 2020, here are the monthly breakdowns of positive COVID-19 cases reported to us from the Board of Health to date:
- October – 12 Cases
- November- 99 Cases
- December – 150 Cases
- January – 110 Cases
- February – 53 Cases
- March – 54 Cases

Through the VAXRIDE initiative, NJ TRANSIT supports New Jerseyans in their efforts to get vaccinated against COVID-19. On their site you will find a map which can be used to find vaccination sites that are served by NJ TRANSIT bus, train and light rail routes. Check back frequently for updates. Free Union County COVID-19 Testing:
Free Walk-Up Testing will be available at:
- Plainfield – March 18, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Plainfield Performing Arts Center (PPAC), 724 Park Avenue, Plainfield
No car is required at the Union County’s COVID-19 mobile testing program. All sites are available on a walk-up basis. Any Union County resident can use any of the walk-up sites. No appointment is required, but you may not eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum 30 minutes prior to testing. Results will be available within 72 hours. Masks and social distance are required at all times.
