Remembering Former Councilman Armand Galluccio

Image of Councilman GalluccioWe thank and honor our former Councilman Armand Galluccio for his many years of dedicated, loyal and selfless service to our community and for his commitment to the residents of New Providence. Councilman Galluccio was one of my closest and dearest friends, who was like a brother to me and to the many who had the honor of knowing and working with him. He was always honest, always honorable, always gave good advice and always represented the council and our community well. He was always a gentleman and always approached and handled every situation with kindness. Armand was truly a good man, a loving husband to his wife Marianne, a good father to Dawn and Bill, and a doting grandfather to Nathan and Ava, all of whom he just adored and loved.

Armand had an outstanding tenure on our New Providence Borough Council. His wisdom and expertise was an integral part of our governing body, a seat he ably held from 2009 – 2018. He contributed tremendously to the successful functioning of our council and to the well-being of our citizens and this community.

He served as a member of the New Providence Zoning Board of Adjustment and on the New Providence Memorial Library Board. He also served as a leader of the New Providence High School Marching Band Wagon. Armand was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He also served as President of the Paca Club, on our New Providence Municipal Alliance, on the Downtown Alliance, and actively with the New Providence Lions Club. Armand always gave generously of his time and expertise. We are all so appreciative. We thank him, and we thank his family for always supporting him in all his endeavors.

But most of all, Armand was a great friend, who was always there when you needed him in good times and in bad. He was always someone you could count on, talk things through with, and could always trust his judgment. We thank Armand for all his good service, his dedication, and his many years of friendship. He will be so terribly missed. Borough flags are lowered to half mast in his honor.  May he Rest In Peace.

– Mayor Al Morgan
