CDC COVID-19 Tracker:
NEW! 2nd Boosters:
The FDA authorized 2nd booster shots for those who are 50+ and those who are 12+ with certain conditions that compromise the immune system. It is especially important that those 50+ who have underlying health conditions that put them at risk for severe COVID disease and those 65+ consider getting a second booster shot. 2nd boosters can be given 4 months from the first booster dose.
The link below from the FDA outlines who should get a booster:
The CDC recommends additional booster doses of mRNA vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) to individuals who fall into the following categories:
- People who received Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 Vaccine for their initial and booster doses
- Adults ages 50 years and older
- People ages 12 years and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised
All of the new boosters are to be administered at least four months after the last shot.
