Memorial Day Tribute – Monday, May 31, 2021:  Join us as New Providence remembers the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving in this country’s armed forces. More information to come soon about this virtual event.

Sharing Network 5K – Sunday, September 12, 2021:  NJ Sharing Network’s Annual 5K Celebration of Life brings together thousands of walkers, runners and volunteers to honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, offer hope to those who continue to wait and remember the lives lost while waiting.

National Night Out – Tuesday, August 3, 2021: Sponsored by New Providence PBA Local 132, this event is at 6pm in Centennial Park (Springfield Ave. and Academy St.).

Scarecrow Contest – October/November, Date TBD: Be a part of the Scarecrow Stroll through Downtown New Providence!  Create your own unique family-friendly scarecrow or a scarecrow representing your organization, sport, or business. It can be wild, funny, furry, silly, or ridiculous. Use your imagination!! FREE to enter but space is limited! This is your chance to express yourself, your organization, or business!

Green Day and FreeCycle Festival – Saturday, October 2, 2021:  Vendors and informational displays regarding sustainability and recycling will be available in Centennial Park (time TBD).  In addition, Sustainable New Providence’s annual FreeCycle event, where members of the community can donate used (but working/usable) items that other people can take and reuse for free, will be at the American Legion Hall on Elkwood Avenue (time TBD).

Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Event- Saturday, October 23, 2021 – More details to come on this family-friendly event…

Street Fair – Sunday, October 24:   The fair, sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and New Providence Businesses, will be held on Springfield Avenue, between South Street and Livingston Avenue.  The fair promises a day of fun for the entire family! The streets are filled with various exhibits, vendors, and activities. Children will have opportunities to visit the petting zoo and experience other fun activities, such as face painting and storytelling. Food vendors will sell refreshments and delicious food throughout the day. Local residents and visitors come to enjoy the food and entertainment. Businesses can participate in this event by serving as a sponsor or a vendor.

Downtown Trick-Or-Treating – Date TBD: Trick or Treat with local businesses will be held in downtown New Providence. Wear your costumes and look for the stores with an orange pumpkin in the window or on the door!  This event is Rain or Shine
