Under direction of the manager of the Department of Public Works, this semiskilled manual worker performs care and maintenance of public buildings and shelter houses and may at times be involved in work pertaining to grounds maintenance. Work is generally performed absent direction supervision; however, the worker is responsible for
the efficient performance of all assigned duties.
Electrical Subcode Official/Inspector – HHS (Part Time) –
Borough of New Providence (Union County)
New Providence is seeking a part-time, Electrical Inspector with a minimum of 3
years of experience preferred. Under direction of the Construction Official, duties
include field inspections and reviewing plans for new and existing buildings and
structures to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code and
enforce same to ensure public safety, health, and welfare; related work as required.
Position requires excellent customer service skills and communication skills;
knowledge of Spatial Data Logic is strongly preferred. Applicant must possess a
valid license as an Electrical Subcode Official and Electrical Inspector HHS. A
valid current N.J. driver’s license is also required. Salary is based on qualifications

School Crossing Guard
The Borough of New Providence is currently recruiting for several school crossing guard positions in the Police Department. You can be an important member of a successful team of individuals committed to the safety of school children in your community. School Crossing Guards work approximately 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the regular school year at designated locations in the borough assisting elementary, middle and high school students.
