Deputy Public Works Manager

The Borough of New Providence is seeking candidates for the position of Deputy Public Works Manager.  New Providence is home to 12,000 residents in this 4-square mile community, where professionalism is the cornerstone of exemplary service.  The idea candidate will have increasing experience and responsibility in a public works environment, holding a Class A CDL and a Certified Public Works Manager (CPWM) Certification.  Strong communication and leadership skills essential.  Additional professional licenses are welcome.

Salary range $90,000 – $100,000 (DQE) with generous benefits package including paid; vacation, sick and personal time off, employee and dependent medical, dental and vision coverage and professional growth opportunities.

Department of Public Works Road Personnel

The Borough of New Providence is seeking candidates for the position of DPW Road personnel.   Starting salary is $40,000 with generous benefits including; vacation, sick and personal paid time off with  overtime opportunities.  Normal hours are 7:00 -3:30 PM, Monday – Friday with overtime required during emergencies, snow and weather events.  Other scheduled overtime is also available.

3rd Plant Operator

Borough of New Providence is seeking candidates for the position of 3rd Plant operator for our Wastewater Treatment Plant.  This position performs any combination of the following tasks relating to plant operation and maintenance;  monitors gauges,  meters and control panel.  Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings to determine process requirements.  Operates valves and gates, starts and stops motors, pumps and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes.  Records meter readings and changes flow charts.  Takes samples and performs required analysis when assigned. Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties.  Assists plant operators in performing maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and the collection system.

Starting Salary $44,000 with a generous benefit program including Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, paid vacation, sick and personal time off, as well as 12 holidays annually.  Regular overtime is available.

Westfield Regional Health Department – Vulnerable Populations Outreach Coordinator

The Westfield Regional Health Department is looking to hire a Vulnerable Populations Outreach Coordinator. The Vulnerable Populations Outreach Coordinators (VPOC) will increase local public health capacity to investigate, trace, contain, mitigate and prevent COVID-19 through targeted outreach to vulnerable populations. The VPOC will work under the direction of the Health Officer and in collaboration with the Public Health Nurse to ensure at-risk residents have access to support services to allow them to isolate or quarantine effectively. VPOCs will conduct an assessment of vulnerable populations within the Health Department’s jurisdiction and develop and implement a strategic plan to ensure timely testing, contact tracing, containments to help mitigate and prevent COVID-19.
