CANCELLED – The New Providence Independence Day Celebration returns to South Street on Friday, July 3 and will include more activities than ever before. As one of the biggest borough events, this celebration attracts nearly 5,000 people. There will be “Chalk on South,” as well as other entertainment. The fabulous Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 PM. South Street will be closed from Gales Drive to Springfield Avenue for people to enjoy the festival. Local businesses can remain open to showcase their wares and provide giveaways and refreshments to patrons. Event rain date is Sunday, July 5.
