NPCOVID19 REPORT:
We have 2 new Covid-19 cases in our community reported to us from the Board of Health, and 4 newly recovered.

Our current total active cases in New Providence is 38 non-LTC cases and 0 LTC cases. Here is a breakdown of our current cases:

  • 1 New Adult non-LTC Cases
  • 1 New Child Case:
    • 1 NPMS Student
  • 4 New Recovered
  • 38 Total Active Cases
    • 38 non-LTC
    • 0 LTC

New Providence has had a total of 323 positive COVID-19 cases since October 1st:

  • October – 12 Cases
  • November- 99 Cases
  • December – 150 Cases
  • January (1st – 15th) – 62 Cases

VACCINE INFORMATION:

If you are eligible to receive the vaccine, please register for an appointment to get vaccinated at https://ucnjvaccine.org/, or at one of the designated sites:

https://covid19.nj.gov/pages/covid-19-vaccine-locations-for-eligible-recipients. Also keep checking with your well care providers.

Individuals older than 65 and individuals between the ages of 16 and 64 with medical conditions defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals who are pregnant and those in an immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant are also eligible but should follow CDC guidance and first discuss vaccination with their medical provider before receiving the vaccine. You are considered a close contact if you have been within six feet of someone with a positive test result for more than 10 minutes at least two days before their positive test if you didn’t have any symptoms, or two days before your first symptom appeared

Testing at Kean University is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00am-2:00pm (hours are being scaled back for testing as the County begins to ramp up hours for vaccines).
