Grove Terrace Field Update (August 14, 2020):
The Borough Council is expected to approve work at Grove Terrace field which will be updated and improved. It is anticipated that the work will commence in September time frame. The improvements will include minor grading work, removing the existing grass field, installation of an irrigation system and installation of new natural sod. The clay infield will be rehabilitated. The existing backstop will remain with new dugouts installed. New fencing will be added along the 1st and 3rd baselines. We expect that a natural barrier (rocks, trees, etc.) will be used to prevent vehicles from driving onto the playing surface. The project will not change the use of the field and will not expand beyond the current footprint. No lights will be installed.
A new water line must be installed on Grove Terrace to support the new irrigation system. It is likely that this work will commence before the other work at the field. However, we do not have a timeline yet as it is being scheduled by NJ American Water Company.
The colors on the attached plans indicate the following:
Blue: Paved areas, driveway and parking lot.
Green: Natural wooded area that will not be disturbed.
Yellow: The area inside this line is the grass that will be removed, new irrigation installed and natural sod installed
Gold: Clay Infield
Please note: As additional information about these projects becomes available, this page will be updated.
